PEVs are available for purchase, today.  Several major automakers have begun to sell battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs), and many PEV models will be on the market in the next 12-18 months.  PEVs are an exciting vehicle opportunity as they provide large benefits to consumers and society, including high torque, lower operating costs, petroleum independence, greenhouse gas reductions, and the convenience of fueling at home.

In order for the PEV market to grow and succeed, the public and professional audiences need to be informed of the key issues.  This includes information on the benefits of purchasing and operating PEVs, installing and accessing charging infrastructure, and integrating PEVs into the community.

In partnership withe DriveClean.CA.GOV, the PEV Collaborative has launched a PEV Resource Center that will provide answers to all these issues.  To access the PEV Resource Center please click on the following hyperlink: www.driveclean.ca.gov/pev. Information can also be found at the broader alternative fueled clearinghouse www.driveclean.ca.gov and on the Resources page of this website.
